The UCSF Center for Science Education and Outreach presents the 2024 MAP to College event.

MAP to College is a free college-going event for San Francisco Bay Area high school seniors and their parents or guardians. Workshops will include Writing your UC Personal Insight Questions, UC Online Application, Community College and the Transfer Path, Financial Aid—and much more!

The workshops topics are:

UC Application: This workshop will introduce attendees to the on-line UC application, review important aspects of the UC application, dates and deadlines for submission, and a review of the general UC application requirements.

CSU Application: This workshop will introduce the on line CSU application, important aspects of the CSU application, dates and deadlines for submission, and a review of general CSU application requirements.

Community College Transfer Path (guaranteed transfer to UC or CSU): This workshop explains the cost-effective option of guaranteed transfer from community college to UC or CSU -- how it works, eligibility guidelines, participating schools, etc. -- as well as reviewing other college offerings.

Private/Independent College Application: A local private/independent university representative will discuss the admissions and application process, a brief description of the private college campus environment (size, programs, unique aspects of the college) and a review of what makes private college a great option for students.

Introduction to UC's Personal Insight Questions: This workshop provides helpful strategies on how to begin organizing your extracurricular activities and personal experiences early, tips to ensure that you answer multiple part prompts thoroughly, and ways to answer four of the eight UC personal insight questions that highlight your character, qualities, and strengths.

Financial Aid (in English and Spanish) - available for all
