- Can I apply if I don’t meet all of the eligibility requirements?
All students are welcome to apply. However, only applicants who meet all minimum eligibility requirements (being a rising 10th or 11th grader and having a minimum 2.5 UC/CSU GPA) will be considered for selection.
- Do I need prior experience in science or healthcare?
No prior experience in science or healthcare is required.
- Does the PITCH Program provide housing or transportation?
No. Participants are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation to and from program sites in San Francisco, CA.
- Is this a paid internship?
No. The PITCH Program is an unpaid educational experience.
- Can I participate remotely?
No. All program activities take place in person.
- Can I attend summer school or join another program during PITCH?
No. PITCH requires full-time attendance (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM) for all three weeks, as well as participation in the PITCH Health Symposium (6:00–8:30 PM). We are unable to offer exceptions or accommodations.
- Where does the program take place?
PITCH is hosted across multiple UCSF campuses in San Francisco, CA.
- Will meals be provided?
Lunch will be provided daily.
- When will I be notified about the status of my application?
Applicants will receive an update on their status by mid-April or the end of April.
